For nearly 65 years, Tulsa Garden Club has purchased new and replacement roses for the Tulsa Municipal Rose Garden. The Club also consults in the planning and care of roses throughout the Garden, which is maintained by the Tulsa Parks Department.  From New Year's Day to Valentine's Day to Mother's Day and birthdays, anniversaries and the passing of loved ones, rose bushes are a living legacy.  It is easy to participate in a tribute to a loved one on any occasion and at any time of the year.  The Club accepts charitable contributions of $30 per bush from the public to purchase rose bushes for the Garden to honor and remember individuals or special occasions.  The honorees' names are entered into the Rose Fund Donor Book which is stored in the Tulsa Garden Center Library.

Please note that the Tulsa Rose Garden is currently having cultural problems with an infestation of Rose Rosette disease which has impacted most of the plants in the garden.  However, this problem has provided both the city and the public with a singular opportunity to move forward with an updated plan for our beautiful city park and rose garden.  Do not despair because roses will still be the prominent feature of the formal garden.  In addition, other plantings will be introduced to complement the roses and provide structure there.  In 2014, the roses have been severely pruned and sprayed to eliminate as much as possible the infestation of the small mite that carries the destructive virus.  After the spring growth has appeared the plants will be examined and any further diseased plants will be removed.  The Parks Dept. will provide some annuals and perennials to fill in some of the areas and in the fall upgrading of Level 1 of the garden will begin in partnership with the Linnaeus Gardeners at Tulsa Garden Center.  It is hoped that planting of new roses will resume in early 2015.  We look forward to new roses and other plantings and a new look to the garden in the coming years.  We invite you to continue honoring your loved ones and friends by donating to this effort in the future as you have in the past.  Please join us in supporting the beautiful Tulsa Municipal Rose Garden.
