Student Education

Scholarship Fundraiser

The annual holiday event began as a sale of plant and organic materials decades ago and has evolved into a sold-out scholarship fundraiser. Just in time for holiday giving, 200 members and guests enjoy a catered luncheon, entertainment, silent auction and drawing for awesome prizes with proceeds benefiting scholarships, student grants and support for OSU and TCC horticulture-related programs.

Since the late 1950s Tulsa Garden Club has awarded 200+ student grants (approximately $240,000) in horticulture or landscape architecture programs from proceeds of projects, including the holiday tea.

  • Tulsa Garden Club was the first Oklahoma garden club to establish an endowed fund with Oklahoma State University (OSU) in horticulture and landscape architecture in 1985.
  • Tulsa Community College (TCC) students have received scholarships since 1998 and, in 2009, an endowed fund was established to support horticulture programming. TCC discontinued its own program, yet has extended horticulture education and certification through the "Second Chance" program for Dick Conner Correctional Center inmates.

Generations of Learning

Recipients of Tulsa Garden Club scholarships and student grants are active professionals throughout the world. Charitable gifts help enrollees in OSU and TCC programs learn new skills to equip them for long-term careers in our communities.
